Pinku joined the Spiegel Research Group in May 2025 as a postdoctoral associate. Originally from West Bengal, India, he earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago under the mentorship of Professor Neal Mankad, where he focused on copper photoredox catalysis. After completing his doctorate, he undertook a postdoctoral appointment at Princeton University before transitioning to Yale.
 

In the Spiegel Lab, Pinku is applying his expertise in organic synthesis toward developing novel small molecules with therapeutic potential. Outside the lab, he enjoys cooking, playing soccer, and listening to music.
